Bunny and Bear

Filthy, stinky, smelly old bear
Asleep in his cave, his stinky old lair.

He hears a squeak, a pip, and a snap,
Such noises disturbing his stinky old nap.

A whiff of his stink as he stands and stretches,
Out of his cave as his tummy retches.

'Today is a day of effortless pungence.'
He smiles, crinkles nose to his horrible scents.

He listens quietly for those little noises,
And hears them again past the prickly roses.

Huddled up in amongst the roses all thorny
Is a little white creature, a small bashful bunny.

'Hey!' he yells with a green-toothed grin.
The bunny takes off racing to win.

Smelly gave chase! What a wonderful game,
Although the bunny may not feel the same.

The bunny so small and awfully clean,
Just wondered, 'Why is this bear so mean?'

And that's when the wee bunny tripped and fell
Into the squishies. 'Help!' he yelled.

The smelly old bear thought. 'What a delight!
To have a friend who shares my plight.'

Into the mud he cannonballed,
Spraying stink all around — what a fall!

He reached out to the bunny who was still unaware
That Smelly was friendly and he always cared.

The bunny reached out to that bear and his stink.
That smelly old bear made sure he did not sink.

So bunny was out of the mud, very dirty indeed,
And bear stayed in to fill his grubby need.

The bunny watched as the bear had his fun,
Giggled 'til he realized he was having none.

So what do you think that bunny would decide?
To jump in the mud — he would no longer hide!

The two played all day, the stinky old pair,
When done bashful bunny had not one white hair.

Stinky, filthy and smelly to the end.
The two became the closest of friends!
